We ensure that all porters and all other staff going above the tree line are provided with adequate clothing and equipment. We are one of the very few companies to provide full set of good quality personnal gears for high altitude to the porters. We provide life insurance and emergency helicopter evacuation for all our staffs going on adventure trips. Besides the insurance service, our agency also provide cash support upto 50,000 rupees on every medical case for our staffs and also cash support to the families as per company rule incase of any death or bigger accident to the staffs or porters of our company.
Besides this, since 3 years we have started our own Geo Welfare Fund, in which we deposit certain amount every month from our agency budget for our staffs and porters which will be kept continue for coming years and this amount will be received according to the division by any staffs who wish to retire from the service aong with other bonus and extra facilities as per companies capacity and staffs contribution to the agency. Also the other advantage of this fund will be, whenever the staffs are in personal needs they can also get support from this fund.
We run the trek according to the guidelines of the Porter and staffs union of Nepal. We do our best to insure our porters and staffs are well treated and taken good care of because without their hard work and good co-operations, we can never be successful.
Precious environment of the Himalayas as beautiful as it is, it is also an extremely fragile one. Increasing population density and number of trekkers in the region threatens to destroy the very beauty which attracts us in the first place. So, Adventure Geo Treks & it’s team, we are extremely environmentally conscious and aim to minimise our impact as much as possible on every trip we organize there.
As deforestation is one of greatest environmental threats, we do not have camp fire system in our treks and always use kerosene for cooking as an alternative fuel to wood. We also discourage trekkers from using wood-fuelled hot showers in lodges along the way. Many lodges, however, now provide solar hot showers, a far more eco-friendly alternative ever possible.
Garbage disposal is another major problem of the treks and trips in the himalayas and some of the busier trails can, at times, appear strewn with litter, many times due to the lack of education and knowledge about it’s impact to the environment to the field staffs or trekkers. Our staff members are well motivated towards Eco-friendly practices. On our every treks and trips we carry out all our garbages that cannot be safely disposed at the sight, and that which can be safely and easily burnt at the campsite we do so there. We inspire our team as much as possible to think for the environment and the importance of preserving it for our future.
Our aim is to help protect and preserve this beautiful environment for future generations of trekkers to enjoy.
