Gokyo Ri Trek

Gokyo - Gokyo Ri to EBC - Kalapathaar trek is one of the best trek in this region with a nice pass over the Cho La. This trek gives best view of this region and one can get the magnificient view both from Kalapathaar and Gokyo Ri. This is the must do trekking for the ones with longer time in this region and is more reccomended than the direct route to EBC.

Trip Itinerary

Day 01: After your breakfast transfer to the domestic airport, and fly to Lukla (2800m) about 30 minutes with enjoying whole mountain views on north side Annapurna to Everest. So that better to choose the left side seat in the plane. And meet your porters who will be waiting and about 30 minutes break in the Lodge have a cup of tea, coffee and trek starts with your guide to Phakding (2640m) Overnight.
This day Descend to Chaurikharka valley from Lukla and straight/flat continue through the Chomlo, Tharokoshi, Ghat zigzag up and down with right side Kushumkhang and opposite Kongde Ridge and Left side DudhKoshi valley river view. It is first day very nice Journey and on the way lunch break in Ghat and get to Phakding.

Day 02: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3446m). Overnight. This day the trial crosses and re-crosses the Dudhkoshi through the villages of Benkyar, monjo, and Jorshalle then climbs steeply 600m. To the market town of Namche Enjoy market there.

Day 03: Rest day in Namche Bazaar for Acclimatization. This day rest for acclimatize and sightseeing around there. First sight seeing Namchebazar and walk up hill to Sagarmatha national park museum on the hill, in side the house and out side this is one of the viewing point for Khumbu valley and Mt.Everest, Lohtse, Nuptse, Thamsherku, Kusumkhang, Khangteka, Amadablem, Iceland peak, Touche, Cholache and backside Kongde RI, Tenggiritau, Nup lhoshar, pacharmo, Tengi Ragitau, Langmocheri, seeing very nice panoramic view and Sagarmatha national park museum and back to lodge.

Day 04: MACHHERMA: (4470m.)
A gradual ascent through birch woods with fine views of kangtega and the distant yak pastures of Gyele. Fairly easy going, high on the West Bank of Dudh koshi Overnight at lodge nearby the yak pastures.

Day 05: GOKYO: (4790M)
Rougher going up a rocky gulch beside the snout of the great Ngozumbo Glacier eventually is leading to a series of beautiful lakes. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 06: Excursion to Gokyo-Ri (5357m) and fifth lake. Return back to Gokyo overnight here in same lodge.

Day 07- Trek to Dole (4200 meters) 6 hours. Overnight at guesthouse.
Day 08- Trek to Namche Bazaar via Khumjung village (3780meters) 5 hours. Overnight at guesthouse.
Day 09- Trek to Lukla (2804 meters.) 6 hours.Overnight at guesthouse.
Day 10- Morning flight to Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel.
Day 11- Leisure day in Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel.
Day 12- Transfer to international airport for your final flight departure.
