First of all I would like to express our gratitude to Adventure Geo Treks and the whole team who assisted us in our trekking and climbing expedition on October 2016. We received the most professional support from the very beginning at our arrival to the Kathmandu airport until our departure back home to Spain.
Our adventure during the Manaslu trekking was really a nice and exiting experience, crossing the most beautiful landscapes and amazing rain forests while going up the course of the powerful river Buda Gandaki. Our guide Vinayak, our assistant Sagar and our two porters did a great job organizing every small detail, making easy our trip and as comfortable and safe as it was possible.
Meanwhile, our sirdar Chandra was also organizing the transport and the logistics of the Base Camp equipment, carrying food and climbing gears to install our camp in the Larke La at 5.050m of altitude. They arrived there from the other side of the pass. Everything was ready for us on time at our arrival to the BC, after 10 days of trekking and acclimation. The BC was installed near a lake in the Larke glacier, a very beautiful place. We had all the comfort facilities that you can expect at this altitude.
Once we arrived there and without any time gap, the climbing team led by Chandra and Vinayak started to install the route equipment to climb the Larke peak, opening the route and installing the fix ropes that later on will help us to climb the peak more easily, safetyly and with guaranties. After two days of their hard work in the route, we climbed at 5.500m of altitude. The staff installed the High Camp where we spend the rest of the day while Chandra and Vinayak were installing the rest of the fix ropes until the end of the last corridor crossing the cornices.
Finally, the summit day at dawn we attempt the last part of the climbing to access the Larke Peak. We found deep snow in a very bad conditions that made the progress very slow and tiring. Again the hard work done by Vinayak and Chandra opening the track on the deep snow were crucial to succeed after 8 hour of ascent. From Larke, the Manaslu Peak seemed to be at the fingertips and the entire view of the Annapurna range was something unforgettable.
The descent to the base camp was also tiring and dangerous because the snow conditions were even worse than in the morning however after 15 hours of walking we arrived safe to the BC to celebrate the success with all the team and staff.
Again we want to thank the very professional work of our guides, assistants, porters, cookers, drivers and all the AGT staff that were crucial for the success of our expedition. They made true our dream and a project that once we had in our mind and because of AGT now became a real and amazing experience.
