Hello Mr. Teuchert
A totally crazy holiday is now unfortunately end. I would just report the most important things.
The most important thing at all: We are all healthy and happy back from Nepal and we could go through the entire tour as planned. The only problem was that I had problems with the lungs from Namgung, because many dust probably not good for me. I had a bad cough and could rise no more. The problem was solved but then professionally by our guide Purna by he has organized a horse that made me by Namgung in 2 days after Shey Gomba and after a rest day the Nganda La. I could handle the downs and the end of the tour thankfully under its own power.
The tour through the upper Dolpo: incredibly beautiful and interesting. Even if not the high points like the Everest area offers scenic, which is balanced by the culture and the people there at the highest level. We all agreed, to have taken the right tour.
Organisation: here I have to say that everything has worked fine (and I really mean everything) 100%.
From the first moment we have lifted well us at geo treks felt and that held until the last day. I can pronounce only a very thick praise.
The team: also here a big praise. From the first day, everything worked smoothly and we quickly made our team into the heart. (I think staff us too)
Purna had everything as guide very well under control. Likewise Sajing our co-Guide. He also has done a very good job and was always there for us if there was something to do. The culinary team has provided us also well. Pizza fries and even cake things were conjured into being which we actually not had expected :-)
But also the porter, the Mule driver and everyone who was at our tour with us, always and in every situation has brought and delivered a super job.
Hats off and respect to these kind people who made this tour us.
Conclusion: A tent trekking through the upper Dolpo is certainly not the easiest what one can undertake in Nepal. Cold (the coldest night amounted to minus 14 degree and the warmest I guess around freezing point), extremely lonely and isolated, very high altitude nights, little time to acclimatise dust...
GEO treks and our escorts have succeeded but that the tour can say we all at the end, that it was a huge experience and we will probably never forget the trip.
Oh Yes. There is a point of course, but probably not can be improved by GEO treks. Maybe yes but yet :-)
After the return flight from Jupal to Nepalganj, it would be super if we just got the connecting flight the morning to KTM. That work also at some other tourists from our plane. Purna has enlightened us that it is not possible to organize this flight the day before by Jupal out. So we were stuck in Jupal then about 7 hours, what was then at some point quite corrosive. The evening flight was then to make matters worse still over half an hour later. We want to ensure no one to blame. For future trekking groups it would be nice, but definitely if there would be a good solution here.
In any case we must say: A pleasant journey.
Further plans we are sure thinking about geo treks!
Many greetings and thank you for an exceptional experience,
Frank Walsh, Bernd Konantz, Michael Lehmann, novel Dudt, Klaus Fischer.
