TAMANG HERITAGE TRAIL – LANGTANG – GOSAINKUNDA – HELAMBU TREK:
Day 01 : Kathmandu arrivalWelcome to Kathmandu, the capital city of the Himalayan kingdom of Nepal. You will be met on airport and transferred to your hotel. After the arrival, the group will be formally introduced to Guide for the activities over the next few days. One should pay attention in particular to the safety aspects of the briefing. Any questions or doubts should be asked and clarified at this time. We check your insurance details and other requirement for your trekking. (Breakfast, Dinner Included)
Day 02 : Kathmandu –Syabrubesi (1467m)Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1467 m.) via Trishuli (Nuwakot) which takes about eight hours. You stay overnight at hotel in Syabrubesi. You head north out of Kathmandu driving through scenic foothills and ridgeline vistas to Syabru Besi passing through Dhunche. While passing along the road at the bank of Trishuli river you catch a glimpse of Ganesh Himal, terraces and green hills. As you pass through Dhunche you feel as if you are heading towards deep land. At the same time, you notice that the road after Betrawati is still under construction. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)
Day 03 : Syabrubesi –gatlang(2238m)Trek from Syabrubesi to Gatlang (2238m.) via Goljung and it takes about six hours. While trekking you experience of the Tamang culture. You can see scenery from view point. This day you walk through village. The cultural show at Goljung and Gatlang makes your trekking a memorable one. Gatlang set high on a hillside among terraced fields is a Tamang settlement. One can visit a Tamang monastery and beautiful Parvatikunda Lake at Gatlang. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)
Day 04 : Gatlang- Tatopani(2607m)Trek from Gatlang to Tatopani (2607m.) and it takes about three hours. On the way you enjoy sightseeing of Langtang range and Ganesh Himal. At Tatopani which naturally signifies 'hot water', you can take hot bath in natural hot springs with bathing areas in the lap of the mountains. It is believed that taking a dip into this spring would heal you from your aches and pains. This day's trekking provides you an opportunity to experience of the Tamang culture. Day 05 : Tatopani to Thuman(2338m)Trek from Tatopani to Thuman (2338m.) via Nagthali (3165m.) and it takes about five hours. You trek via Bimthang. En route you can encounter animals like monkeys and deer. The panoramic view of Langtang, Kerung, Ganesh Himal, Sanjen ranges can be distinctly experienced from Nagthali. Nagthali used to be a popular meditation center for the local monks and priests. Another cultural village Thuman is popular for its Shamanic performances and beautiful view of Langtang. Beautiful view of the mountains can be seen from every house in Thuman. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)
Day 06 : Thuman –Briddim(2229m)Trek from Thuman to Briddim (2229m.) via Lingling which takes about seven hours. This day you can observe Tibeto Burman Tamang culture on the way. You can experience village life of Briddim. Moreover you can enjoy cultural show performed by community members. You can also experience of home stay and Tamang culture. To mention about Briddim is a Tibetan Buddhist village in the bosom of Langtang Himal. Around 43 houses are spread in Z shape. Most of the houses are made up of stone and have roofs of splitshake. As direct descendant of ancient Tibean immigrants, the culture and tradition of Briddim closely resembles that of nearly Tibetan villages. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)
Day 07 : Briddim –Lamahotel(2470m)Trek from Briddim to Lama Hotel (2470m.) and it takes about six hours. You walk through Briddim village while observing the local lifestyle and culture and interacting with the locals. Later on you find that the settlement of Lama Hotel is located on the banks of Langtang River and surrounded by lush forests and mountains. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)
Day 08 : Lama Hotel –Langtang Valley(3430m)Trek from Lama Hotel to Langtang (3430m.) which takes about five hours. En route you are quite mesmerized by the beautiful views of the Langtang range. You can also experience and make observation of Tibetan settlements. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)
Day 09 : Langtang-Kyanjing Gompa(3870m)Trek from Langtang to Kyangjin (3870m.)and it takes about three hours. This day you can see the glaciated valley of Kyangjin on the lap of Langtang Lirung and surrounded by snowy mountains which is also the world's nearest settlements to glacier. If you happen to visit during monsoon you can find various wild Himalayan flowers. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)
Day 10 : Kyanjing –Lama Hotel(2470m)Trek from Kyangjin to Lama Hotel (2470m.) which takes about six hours. From Kyangjin you retrace your route, following the Langtang Khola to Langtang village and on to Ghora Tabela. After lunch you continue the steep descent to Lama Hotel. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)
Day 11 – Lama Hotel - Thulo Syabru (2,250m) - 5 hrsThe beginning of the trail gently descends to the Landslide which then goes steeply up to Thulo Syabru. En route you could see red pandas, monkeys and various species of birds. Thulo Syabru is a wonderful village from where you can enjoy the amazing land feature and the magnificent nature with splendid views of Ganesh Himal (7,110m) and Langtang Himal. Day 12 – Thulo Syabru to Singompa (3,250m) - 5 hrsThe trails from Thulo Syabru to Foprang Danda (3,200m ) follows a steep ascent path passing through Dursagang (2,660m) along with the views of Langtang Himal, Ganesh Himal, Tibetan Mountain, Hemlock and forests. Now the path gently ascends for a while then it follows a flat level to Sing Gompa. There is a well managed local cheese factory and a Buddhist Monastery. Singgompa provides panoramic views, exhilarating nature and a yak cheese factory. The cheese manufactured here is considered the best in Nepal. Overnight at a guesthouse.(Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)
Day 13 – Singompa - Gosaikunda (4,300m) - 5 hrsThe first part of the trail emerges and we steadily climb up to Laurebinayak. With a steep ascent all the way to Gosaikunda, you follow a rugged trail with dramatic views of the Manaslu range, Ganesh Himal range, Tibetan peaks and Langtang Lirung. On a clear day, even the Annapurna range can be seen rising up behind. You pass a few huts in the high pasture of Laurebinayak, cross a small ridge and have your first views of the holy lake of Gosaikunda. There are about a dozen lakes in the Gosainkunda Basin - the three most important ones are Saraswatikunda, Bhairabkunda and Gosainkunda. According to legend Gosainkunda was created by Lord Shiva when he pierced a glacier with his trident to obtain water to quench his thirst after swallowing poison that threatened to destroy the world. Day 14 - Cross the Laurebinayak pass (4,610m) then trek to Ghopte (3,430m) - 6 hrsThe trail leaves Gosaikund and climbs through rugged country, past four small lakes to the Laurebina La (4,610m), the highest point of this trek. Keep looking back at the spectacular views of Manaslu and the mountains of the Ganesh Himal, as well as the now familiar Langtang Lirung. You then descend steeply to camp near Gopte. Overnight at a guesthouse.(Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)
DAY 15: Gopte- Kutumsango (2470m): 6-7 hours You slide down through a forested area and climb through a dry river-bed to arrive at a Kharka that is surrounded by rhododendron forest.Climbing the ridge directly above the village gives you a marvelous view of the Jugal area. Cross the village and enter a forested area, finally arriving to Kutumsango for overnight. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)
DAY 16: Kutumsango – Chisapani (2215m): 5-6 hours The day you enter a cultural destination it call Helambu Region, walk on this path where you can enjoy with Sherpa culture with traditional village and monasteries. The stone houses are close together with narrow alleyways separating them. Overnight in a small settlement of Chisapani. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)
DAY 17: Chisapani – Sundarijal : 4 hours and drive back to Kathmandu 2 hours.You will cross small forest pass with the view of beautiful mountain range to north. The trail then starts going down through several small villages and settlements in a stone path stairs. You will go through the waterdam of Sundarijal to finally to this small settlement from where you will be driving back to Kathmandu and overnight Hotel. (Breakfast, Lunch Included)
DAY 18: Full day sightseeing of the famous Patan Durbar Square and Bhaktapur Durbar Square.Today after your breakfast you will start from your hotel with your tour guide and private transport to these famous sights. First drive to Patan and visit the durbar square with all these beautiful arts and monuments from the 16th century and after that visit again the another famous palace square of Bhaktapur which is another beautiful town from the historical Nepal. (Breakfast)
DAY 19: Half day sightseeing of the another famous palace square which is built in similar way as the Patan and Bhaktapur as they used to be the 3 separate kingdoms in the past. And back to your hotel and free day for final preparation and shopping, relaxing.
DAY 20: According to your flight time, we transfer you to the international airport and farewell.
